I've always been interested in helping people. I never saw myself in a career where I didn't contribute to the health and wellness of others. I knew I wanted to go into the medical field, but I didn't want to go the nursing route, and I didn't want to be a physician. Being a PA was a good middle ground. I get to work in a variety of different specialties, wherever the need is. I do a lot of chronic care management, managing hypertension and diabetes and also upper respiratory infections or orthopedic concerns. I enjoy the variety of different ages. It's fun to see kiddos, but I also enjoy seeing people as they age and building those relationships. Lots of patients who come to primary care have multiple concerns that maybe need to be addressed. Ultimately, I want to provide compassion and be there for the patient, to listen to their needs and see how you can address them.
